Top 10 reasons to come to the Josef Korbel School

I hope this finds you enjoying the longer days ad perhaps a green beverage today. Our office recently put together a Top 10 list of reasons to come (or apply) to Korbel. We have yet to post this on our website so you are the first viewers of this list. In addition, I’m including some side notes in parenthesis which will only be on this blog. Lucky you. Among many other reasons to consider joining our student body at the University of Denver and specifically here at Korbel, here’s what we think are a few of the TOP reasons:
The Josef Korbel School is ranked #12 in the world for graduate programs in International Affairs by Foreign Policy Magazine. (perhaps over used but it’s a pretty impressive statistic. check out our upcoming full page color ad in FP’s May/June issue). The city of Denver is ranked #1 among U.S. cities for non-profits per capita and is the 3rd largest federal employer, providing unique learning opportunities and top-notch internships and employment. (Check out http://www.coloradononprofits.org/  for a listing of local NPOs) According to a study conducted by Apartments.com and CBCampus.com , Denver ranks as #8 in their list of the 10 best cities in the U.S. for college grads to live affordably and find a job. (An average 1 bedroom apartment near campus: $550/month. We also provide a free light rail/bus pass for all current students) The Josef Korbel School’s merit-based scholarship program includes scholarships ranging from $10,000-15,000 per year if you meet the parameters and are admitted to the graduate program.
